A weatherbot

In addition to hammers and saws, we fiddle around with circuitboards here as well. This little gizmo takes temperature readings from outside and inside the house, and beams them up into the cloud for my personal enjoyment. In fact, the temperatures at the top right of this site are fed by our little weatherbot.

It’s a NodeMCU ESP8266 board, which I am really enjoying due to its compact size and onboard wifi. And it’s super easy to use. At some point it will get an upgrade with more sensors, and I’ll probably update the backend to store and graph historical data. But this is a good start!
