She’s an old colonial, built in 1901 as a vacation home (we’re a mile or so from Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island). The part of the house on the left which sticks out is the original house, with the rest being a series of additions.

It has a lot of charm, but came needing a good deal of work to reach its potential. In the few years we’ve been here, however, we’ve gotten a lot done (as noted here). We’re having a great time, and learning a bunch in the process!
